Born into a family of artists, it was only a matter of time before I embraced the legacy. My passion for art emerged early in life, growing stronger as I pursued creative expression. This journey eventually led me to the Art Institute.
On my mother’s side, my family boasts a rich artistic heritage. My great-grandfather, Enrique Benitez (1901–1980), my grandfather, Poolho Benitez (1931–2001), my great-uncle, Enrique Benitez Jr. (1936–2005), my uncle, Roberto Benitez, and my mother, Pola Benitez, all contributed to this lineage. Most of them specialized in realistic and impressionist styles, focusing on traditional Mexican landscapes. Oil painting was their primary technique, showcasing the beauty of their heritage.
On my father’s side, the legacy continues with my grandfather, José Escobar-Chacón (1936–2020), and my father, Alejandro Escobar. Their work embodies a realistic style, exploring a variety of techniques, including watercolor and oil painting. Still life and portraits dominate their portfolio, reflecting their mastery and dedication to the craft.
While studying at art school, I honed my skills and developed a unique style, with oil painting becoming my preferred medium. At the same time, I explored new styles and built a strong network of artists across different regions of Mexico. These connections opened opportunities for me to exhibit my work throughout the country, sharing my vision and passion for art with a wider audience.
